Time Travel in Britain’s Lost Rainforests

by Hugh Hartford

Regenerative forester John Williamson earns his living in the ancient woodlands of the UK’s Teign Valley. As he coppices trees and makes charcoal on lands that have been carefully tended by generations of people for thousands of years, he comes to exist within a deeper understanding of time—one guided by the 400-year cycles of England’s last remaining rainforests.
