The Hunt

This short film by Sanjay Rawal, adapted from his feature film Gather, follows Chef Nephi Craig of the White Mountain Apache Nation and master forager Twila Cassadore of the San Carlos Apache Nation as they work with Indigenous foodways to promote processes of healing and recovery from historical trauma.


Sanjay Rawal is a James Beard Award-winning filmmaker. His films include Ocean Monk, Food Chains, Challenging Impossibility, 3100: Run and Become, and Gather.

Writer & Executive Producer

A-dae Romero-Briones (Cochiti/Kiowa) is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and has written extensively about food safety, the Produce Safety rule and tribes, and the protection of tribal traditional foods. She is the executive producer for The Hunt.
