Seasons: Celebrating the Launch of Volume 6 with Point Reyes Books

Join us for a special event hosted by our nationally acclaimed local bookstore, Point Reyes Books, to celebrate the release of our sixth annual print edition, Seasons, and our companion book of practices, Requiem, Invitation, and Celebration. Reflecting a world where snow no longer arrives, annual migrations fall out of time, and yet first blossoms still burst, Volume 6 moves through three themes: requiem, invitation, and celebration, each a contemplation on the paradoxical ways the seasons now beckon us into intimate relationship with the Earth.

On Friday, November 14, at the Dance Palace in Point Reyes Station, Emergence Magazine founder and executive editor Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee will join magazine contributors poet Jane Hirshfield and writer David James Duncan for selected readings and a rich discussion on the changing nature of the seasons, facilitated by Point Reyes Books owner Stephen Sparks. This will be followed by a book signing, where you’ll have the chance to get your hands on the first copies of Seasons.

Tickets are available through Point Reyes Books’ website. Entry-only tickets are $20. Tickets including entry and a copy of Volume 6: Seasons are $50.

In partnership with Point Reyes Books, the Mesa Refuge will hold a writing workshop with David James Duncan on Saturday, November 15, 9am–12pm, exploring writing with attention to the seasons as a spiritual practice. More information on registration to come.
