Seasons: An Immersive Launch Event for Volume 6 in Berlin
Reethaus, Flussbad Campus

In October, Emergence heads to Berlin for a special weekend at Slowness’ Flussbad campus in celebration of the launch of our latest print edition, Volume 6: Seasons. Reflecting a world where snow no longer arrives, annual migrations fall out of time, and yet first blossoms still burst, this volume moves through three themes: requiem, invitation, and celebration, each a contemplation on the paradoxical ways the seasons now beckon us into intimate relationship with the Earth.
This three-day experience will feature the world premiere of the interactive film Five Studies on Light, a companion to Seasons by Emergence’s creative partner Studio Airport in collaboration with Dutch installation artist Boris Acket. The event will also debut a 360-degree dynamic spatial sound installation exploring the phenomenon of light as it unfolds throughout the year, alongside its mysteries, beauty, and profound, visceral presence in our lives. A multimedia experience where light becomes sound, seasons become stories, and mediums converge, this work, held in Flussbad’s architecturally-acclaimed riverside Reethaus building and featuring a fabric installation that reflects and refracts light by Boris, an original soundscape woven with a live acoustic performance by Julian Tjon Sack Kie, and narration by Vittoria Totale, invites you to slow down, listen, and engage in a unique attentiveness to light, the most essential element of the seasons.
Admission tickets will be available for purchase in early September.
