Listening to the Voices of Earth

An Evening on Embodying a Spiritual Ecology in Geneva

“Let go of your mind and then be mindful. Close your ears and listen!”
—Rūmī

On October 29, join Sufi teacher and Emergence Magazine founder Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee for an immersive evening in Geneva, Switzerland, exploring how practices in spiritual ecology can open us to be receptive to the more-than-human voices that have always been speaking to us.

Come early and gather with us at Promenade du Pin park around a site-specific sound installation by renowned musician Max Neuhaus that will invite you to attune your senses to the interplay of sounds unique to this place.

Emmanuel will then give a talk at the adjacent GamMAH cultural space, drawing from his new book Remembering Earth. He will speak about how listening with sustained attention is an act of devotion connecting the outer senses to the inner senses—called “the inner ear of the heart” in Sufism—that brings to life the values of kinship, reciprocity, interconnectedness, and reverence. The evening will include a guided practice led by Emmanuel, followed by an audience Q&A hosted by The Field founder Barbara Bulc.

In collaboration with The Field and Arta Sperto.
