Accessibility
Emergency Magazine is committed to making our website’s content accessible to everyone. We are continuously working to improve our user experience and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Standards Compliance
We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These guidelines help ensure that our content is accessible to a wider range of people, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities.
Efforts to Improve Accessibility
We are actively reviewing and enhancing our website to improve its accessibility. Features to assist with this include:
- Text Resizing: Adjust the text size on our website for better readability using your browser’s text size settings.
- Keyboard Navigation: Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
- Images: Alternative text for images.
Site Limitations
While we are dedicated to improving accessibility across our website, we know some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible:
- Embedded Media (Video/Audio Players): Some of our embedded video and audio content may not have comprehensive captions or transcripts. We are working to add these accessibility features where possible.
- Stories: Some stories, like feature stories, interviews, galleries, audio stories and films, may not fully comply with WCAG standards. We are in the process of evaluating these features and exploring improvements.
